Adventure in a Heartbeat itinerary, hour by hour

The most direct way to see Pacaya Samiria if you are short on time. We leave Iquitos before dawn, cruise the Yanayacu river and return to the city that same night, with the rainforest still fresh in your eyes.

Itinerary of the day

  • 06:00Pick-up of passengers in the city of Iquitos.
  • 06:30Departure to the city of Nauta by road.
  • 08:00Arrival in Nauta. Welcome and breakfast at a local restaurant.

  • 10:00Arrival at PV01 Yanayacu. Entry registration, briefing about the reserve and its rules of conduct.
  • 10:30River cruise and wildlife watching, where you can see pink and grey dolphins in their natural habitat while travelling the river surrounded by its great diversity of birds.
  • 14:00Lunch on board the boat while enjoying the natural surroundings.
  • 15:30Free time to relax and capture the beauty of the landscape, the perfect moment to enjoy the calm surroundings and photograph the flora and fauna.
  • 16:00Start of the return journey to Nauta.

Low-water seasonWhen the river level drops significantly we use smaller boats fitted with lower-powered engines. This operational change may cause an estimated delay of about one hour in the planned itinerary.
