Home of the Chullachaqui itinerary, hour by hour
Five days for those who want plenty of time inside the forest. Two nights of camping at Fariña Sua, sunrise outings and a fishing demonstration in rarely visited waters.
Day one
- 06:00Pick-up of passengers in the city of Iquitos.
- 06:30Departure to the city of Nauta by road.
- 08:00Arrival in Nauta. Welcome and breakfast at a local restaurant.
- 09:00Boarding a speedboat towards the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve (Yanayacu Pucate sector).
- 10:00Arrival at PV01 Yanayacu. Entry registration, briefing about the reserve and its rules of conduct.
- 10:30River cruise and wildlife watching, where you can see pink and grey dolphins in their natural habitat while travelling the river surrounded by its great diversity of birds.
- 13:00Arrival at the community of Yarina.
- 14:00Regional lunch.
- 15:00Free time to relax and capture the beauty of the landscape, the perfect moment to enjoy the calm surroundings and photograph the flora and fauna.
- 16:30Visit to the community, where you can see sustainable management projects such as aguaje palm and taricaya turtles, and meet local residents to learn about their culture.
- 19:00Dinner.
- 20:30Night boat ride, where you can watch nocturnal birds, caimans and night monkeys and take in the starry sky, a unique experience for contemplating nature.
- 22:30Overnight stay at Yarina Lodge.
Day two
- 07:00Breakfast prepared with fresh, local produce.
- 08:00Departure towards the Fariña Sua camp to begin the day of exploration. Along the route you can observe birds, pink dolphins, sloths and other animals typical of the tropical rainforest.
- 12:00Arrival at the Fariña Sua camp.
- 14:00Lunch made with regional ingredients.
- 16:00Walk along the trail, where you can observe turtles, snakes, birds and primates in their natural setting.
- 18:30Dinner.
- 19:30Night boat ride, perfect for watching the starry sky, caimans and night monkeys while the sounds of the rainforest surround the experience.
- 22:00Overnight stay at the camp.
Day three
- 07:00Breakfast, starting the day with local dishes.
- 08:00Boat ride to the Fariña Sua creek, where visitors have the chance to observe a rich diversity of wildlife: horned screamers, hoatzins, giant river otters, anacondas, the distinctive squirrel monkey, more primates and sloths, while cruising the calm channels of the rainforest.
- 13:30Return to the Fariña Sua camp for a well-earned rest.
- 14:00Lunch, with regional specialities.
- 16:00Demonstration fishing in the nearby waters, with the chance to catch species such as acarahuazu, fasaco, piranha and sabalo.
- 17:30Free time to rest and relax at the camp, enjoying the natural surroundings.
- 19:00Dinner, with a delicious traditional meal to round off the day.
- 19:30Night boat ride, where you can enjoy the starry sky and observe caimans and night monkeys.
- 22:00Overnight stay at the camp.
Day four
- 06:00Early morning boat trip to spot birds and wildlife in their natural habitat, including pink dolphins, herons and other local species.
- 08:00Breakfast with fresh, local produce.
- 09:00Walk along the camp's tourist trail, where you can observe an impressive variety of wildlife: monkeys, toucans, tinamous, guans and macaws, while exploring the heart of the rainforest.
- 14:00Lunch at the camp, prepared with local ingredients.
- 16:00Return to the community of Yarina. Along the way you can observe sloths and macaws in their natural setting, making the most of the calm of the afternoon.
- 18:00Arrival at the community of Yarina, check-in at the lodge and free time to relax.
- 20:00Dinner.
- 21:30Overnight stay at Yarina Lodge, resting surrounded by the sounds of nature.
Day five
- 08:00Breakfast at Yarina Lodge.
- 09:00Handicraft exhibitions, where you can admire and buy products made by the craftswomen of the community.
- 10:00Boarding for the return journey to the city of Nauta.
- 11:00Arrival at PV01 Yanayacu for the checkpoint.
- 13:00Arrival in Nauta (optional lunch in Nauta, not included in the package) and departure to the city of Iquitos.
- 15:00Arrival in Iquitos. End of the services.

- Boat transport inside the reserve and registration at PV01 Yanayacu.
- 2 nights of accommodation at Yarina Lodge and 2 nights at the Fariña Sua camp.
